Crab challenge spots open

There are still a few spots open in the inaugural Oregon Coast Culinary Institute’s Oregon Dungeness Crab Challenge.
Chefs can compete in the ACF-sanctioned hot food competition on Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the OCCI facility on the campus of Southwestern Community College.
The entry fee is $50 for ACF members and $100 for non-ACF members.
Competitors will have two hours to complete their meals, an hour and 50 minutes for cooking and 10 minutes for plating.
The winner will receive $1,000. Second place will be $500 and third place will receive $300.
