SUTHERLIN (AP) — State Police used spike sticks to stop a Salem teenager who led them on a 40-mile chase along Interstate-5 at speeds of more than 125 miles an hour.
He was finally stopped Friday near Sutherlin.
The chase began when police tried to stop the car, which was going more than 100 miles per hour, south of Creswell.
The 17-year-old driver was charged with felony attempt to elude and reckless driving and taken to the Lane County Juvenile Detention Center.
The car drove over spike sticks, flattening a front tire, and spun to a stop on a freeway shoulder. |
