JASPER, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say six people were hurt in an explosion and fire at a furniture factory in the southern Indiana city of Jasper.

A spokeswoman at Jasper Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center says none of the injuries are life threatening.

Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang (HOKE’-sang) says the explosion this morning at the Indiana Laminate plant caused a fire that has been extinguished. He says some walls collapsed. What caused the explosion is unclear.

The first 911 call came into police at 7:19 a.m.

Jasper is about 50 miles northeast of Evansville.
