CORVALLIS (AP) — Hundreds of low-income Oregon State University students have applied for a food aid program.
MealBux, a program run by the Associated Students of OSU, has $90,200 in funding from student fees budgeted for this school year.
Last year, about 250 students applied and 100 received aid. This year, the program has already handed out 300 applications and more are expected.
The student association says the program began three years ago because some students end up choosing between books and supplies or getting healthy meals. |
