PORTLAND (AP) — The new director of the north Portland-based advocacy group Latino Network is Andrea Cano, who replaces Lisa Johnson, the new director of Portland’s new Office of Human Relations.

Cano formerly was with the Oregon Farm Worker Ministry. She previously was a newspaper and television reporter in Los Angeles. She is a minister with the United Church of Christ and a professional interpreter.

Her projects will include gang prevention, early education and parental involvement in schools.
