EUGENE(AP) — Oregon State Police say a Springfield man arrested for attempted murder after allegedly shooting at Lane County sheriff’s deputies didn’t appear in court and is sought.

Neither Nathan Miles Dix, 31, nor his girlfriend, sought on lesser charges, has been seen since Dec. 24.

Dix was arrested Nov. 17 after being indicted for attempted murder and weapons charges. He was freed on bail Dec. 23 and had a Dec. 29 court date.

Police said Dix fired at two deputies who were called regarding a suicidal man armed with a shotgun.

The deputies returned fire, wounding Dix.

Dix was last seen Dec. 24 with Annie Jo Welch, also 31.

Police found a car registered to Welch south of Yachats on Dec. 30.
