The Coos and Curry Counties Regional Workforce Investment Board will hold its regular quarterly meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at South Coast Business Employment Corporation.

SCBEC is located at 93781 Newport Lane in Coos Bay.

This meeting will feature open discussion, along with questions and answers about the financial situation. Guest speakers are Chris Christoffer, vice president and team leader, Coos Bay Commercial Banking from Sterling Savings Bank, and Donna Opitz, second vice president of Wealth Management, financial advisor, wealth advisor specialist from Smith Barney.

Workforce boards were established through the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 with the intent to provide workforce investment activities, through statewide and local workforce investment systems, a press release said.

Marce Knight of North Bend Medical Center serves as chairperson and Mary Taylor of Freeman Marine serves as co-chairwoman.
