Matthew Whitmer and Nicole Starke Announce engagement Contributed photo

Nicole Starke and Matthew Whitmer have announced their plans to marry on April 14, 2009, in Kona, Hawaii.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Joan Starke of Reedsport. She is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is the patient care coordinator for Pacific Home Health and Hospice in Coos Bay.

The future groom is the son of Donald and MaryKay Whitmer of Bandon. He is a graduate of Western Oregon University with a degree in law enforcement. He is involved with his parents in the family business — The Big Wheel General Store in Old Town Bandon.
