CORVALLIS — Calvin Haynes had a career-high 20 points and Josh Tarver hit two free throws with 1.3 seconds left to help Oregon State to a 71-67 win over Seattle Pacific on Tuesday.

Oregon State (3-5) has won three of four since snapping a 25-game losing streak that stretched back to early last season.

Brandon Larreu led Division II Seattle Pacific (6-3) with 16 points.

Oregon State led by as many as 15 in the first half before Seattle Pacific rallied to cut its deficit to 37-32 at the break.

After four ties and six lead changes in the second half, Oregon State took a 64-61 lead on Seth Tarver’s three-point play with 2:28 left.

Seattle Pacific closed to within one, but could get no closer.

Chris Banchero missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the closing seconds.

Banchero’s steal and basket with 16:24 left in the game gave Seattle Pacific its first lead at 43-41. Rafael Moreira’s offensive rebound and steal capped a 5-0 run that put the Falcons ahead 57-53 with 7:51 remaining.

Omari Johnson added 17 points for Oregon State, which shot 58 percent from the field.

N. Colorado 76, Portland 73

GREELEY, Colo. — Neal Kingman scored 18 points, including 5-of-6 3-pointers, to lead Northern Colorado to a 76-73 win over Portland on Tuesday night.

He was followed by Devon Beitzel with 14 points, Jabril Banks with 12 points, and Taylor Montgomery with 10 points.

Banks also grabbed seven rebounds for the Bears (3-5), while Montgomery and Mike Proctor each had six.

Northern Colorado led 42-33 at halftime and shot 50 percent from the field for the game.

Robin Smeulders led five Portland players in double figures with 18 points and eight rebounds.

Nik Raivio contributed 16 points for the Pilots (5-4), T.J. Campbell had 13 points, and Jared Stohl had 12, all in the first half. Luke Sikma reached double figures for the first time this year with 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting.
