A Coos Bay man remained in jail this morning, following an apartment burglary Saturday in which a man threatened a woman with a pistol.
According to a Coos County sheriff’s press release, at about 6:27 p.m., deputies received a call about a man brandishing a pistol at the apartments at 93754 Newport Lane. Sarah Johnston, 20, of Coos Bay reported someone had entered her apartment and threw her belongings from the second story onto the parking lot. Johnston said the suspect returned and pointed a pistol directly at her.
At 8:33 p.m., a sheriff’s deputy stopped a Honda Civic traveling into Eastside from Bunker Hill at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and D Street. He arrested the driver, Christopher Page, 20, on charges of first-degree burglary, menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.
Page was taken to Coos County jail, where he remained this morning on $90,000 bail.
Other people were in the vehicle but police did not believe they were involved in the initial incident, the press release said. |
