Local Recap: Elmira tops Reedsport

Elmira got 38 points from Max Beebe and beat visiting Reedsport 61-48 in a boys basketball game Wednesday.
Cody Savey had 19 points and Sean Horton added 12 for the Braves, who compete in theHarrisburg tournament this weekend.
Powers teams win
The Powers boys and girls basketball teams beat Coquille’s junior varsity squads Wednesday.
The Cruisers won the boys game 47-36, outscoring Coquille 14-5 in the fourth quarter.
Newton Allred had 15 points and Kiefer Allen added 11 for the Cruisers.
Tyler Martin had eight points and Nathan Huffman seven for Coquille.
Powers won the girls game 38-18.
Liz Linderman had eight points and Lee Anna Sears and Taylor Stallard added seven each for Powers, which did not play four of its regular starters.
Joelle Wheeler had six points for Coquille.
