Coos Bay

A Coos Bay woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday in Coos Bay.

At about 7:35 p.m., emergency personnel went to the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Newmark Avenue to a report of a accident involving a 2007 Chevrolet and a 1996 Volkswagen, according the Coos Bay press log. A Coos Bay police spokeswoman said one of the vehicles rear-ended the other. The Volkswagen driver, Michelle Bush, 19, was taken to Bay Area Hospital for treatment, police said. A hospital spokeswoman said there was no record of treating Bush. The driver of the Chevrolet, Loida Salcedo, 43, of Coos Bay, was not hurt, police said.

An ambulance crew rushed a man injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident to the hospital Friday night.

At about 8:32 p.m., emergency personnel were called to Spinreel Dunebuggy, 67045 Spinreel Road, to a report of an accident on the dunes, according to the Coos County press log. The cause of the accident was unknown at press time, but police said an ambulance crew took James Johnson, 28, address unknown, to Bay Area Hospital for treatment. A hospital spokeswoman said there was no record of treating Johnson.

Hauser

Medics took a Coos Bay man to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 101 Friday evening near Hauser.

At about 5:55 p.m., a 1987 Toyota pickup, driven by Steven Blum of North Bend, was stopped in the southbound lane, attempting to turn left onto Kadora Lane near milepost 229 when a 1993 Ford Mustang failed to stop and struck the Toyota, according to an Oregon State Police press release. The rear axle of the Toyota was broken in the accident. The driver, of the Ford, George E. Deos, was taken to Bay Area Hospital, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said. Blum refused medical treatment and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
