Soroptomist taking award applications

The Soroptimist Club of Coos Bay is seeking applications for the Women’s Opportunity Award.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: Must be a woman with primary financial responsibility for supporting her family (including children, spouse, siblings and/or parents), must attend or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program, must have financial need, must be motivated to achieve educational and career goals and must reside in one of Soroptimist International of America’s member countries and territories.
Previous award recipients, women who already have an undergraduate degree and Soroptimist employees and their immediate families are all ineligible.
To request an application, call Jan Vigue at 266-3945. Completed applications must be returned by Dec. 15.
