Road Runs

Upcoming Road Races on the South Coast

For more information on upcoming road races and for photos from past events, those interested can log on to the South Coast Running Club’s Web page at www.southcoastrunningclub.com.

Mac’s Run — Saturday, Dec. 13, starting at 10 a.m. at Sunset Bay State Park, west of Charleston. Events include a 10-kilomter run and a 5-kilometer run/walk. Both races go through Shore Acres and the longer run loops through Cape Arago State Park. The entry fee is $28 with a quarter-zippered sweatshirt and $5 without for runners who pre-register by Nov. 28. For people who register after Nov. 28, the fee increases to $32 with a sweatshirt, which includes mailing costs. Unique medals will be presented to all finishers. Bullards Run — Sunday, Jan. 4, starting at 2 p.m. in the campground at Bullards Beach State Park north of Bandon. Events include a 10-kilometer run and 5-kilometer run/walk. The longer race takes runners by the historic Coquille River Lighthouse. The entry fee is $2 plus a previously worn, but not worn-out shirt from another run for a T-shirt exchange.
