Weekend crashes send two to hospitals

Medics took a California man to the hospital Saturday following an all-terrain vehicle accident in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
According to Sgt. Pat Downing with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of an accident on the east border of the area, near Rope Swing. The driver, Skyler Davies, 21, of Redding, Calif., was taken to Bay Area Hospital with a leg injury. She was transferred to Mercy Medical Center in Redding, a Bay Area Hospital spokeswoman said this morning.
North Bend
Medics took a 96-year-old woman to the hospital Saturday after she was hit by a car in the Albertsons parking lot in North Bend.
Velma Dahl of Coos Bay needed medical care after the accident with a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu, at 1:50 p.m., according to a North Bend police log.
This morning, Dahl was in fair condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Police cited the driver of the Chevrolet, Mary Lange, 70, of Coos Bay on a charge of unsafe backing. |
