Coquille officer gets new court date
Monday, December 1, 2008 10:19 AM PST
Former Coquille police officer Randy Ulmer, who was arrested on theft and official misconduct charges, will appear in court in December.
A story on A1 Tuesday listed an earlier date, but Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier said the appearance wouldn’t be until Dec. 17. He said investigators need to finish an audit of the Coquille Police Department’s evidence room before Ulmer can appear. The inventory could take a couple of weeks to complete.
Ulmer resigned Friday, Nov. 21, and was arrested Monday after the department discovered some inconsistencies in how some of the items in the evidence locker were handled.
The Coquille Police Department requested help from Oregon State Police, Coos Bay Police Department and Bandon Police Department in the investigation. |
