North Bend officers arrested a Coos Bay man Saturday on charges including attempted murder and first-degree assault following a stabbing that sent three people to the hospital.

Police received a 911 call, at about 2:30 a.m., reporting an assault at 2090 Virginia Ave. They found three people suffering from stab wounds, apparently from a kitchen knife. Medics took Luis Gallo-Camacho, 24, of North Bend; Shawna Loew, 22, of Coos Bay; and Jessica Hamm, 22, of North Bend, to Bay Area Hospital, according to a press release.

According to a hospital spokeswoman, Gallo-Camacho was treated and left, and Loew was treated and released. She said the hospital has no record of seeing Hamm.

The suspect fled the scene, police said, and attempts to locate him were initially unsuccessful.

Acting on a tip, North Bend and Coos Bay police responded to 145 N. Wall St., at about 6:38 p.m., where they arrested Filiberto Gallo-Morado, 24, without incident. His charges include two counts of attempted murder, first-degree domestic assault, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, three counts of unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of reckless endangering, domestic menacing, two counts of menacing, three counts of harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was taken to Coos County jail, where he was being held on $2.63 million bail. He also has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold, jail staff said.

you should just shut up because your words let everyone know who the ignorant one is..YOU. You are an ignorant racist who should be quiet. Hey a guy stabs someone to death does that make them any less dead if the guy who stabbed him to death is white? Nope still dead.

Thank-you Cathy Miller. I agree with you 100%. Shawna is a good, loving girl left to try to put her life back together and take care of those two beautful girls that she has. THANK GOD for respectful people like you. God Bless you Shawna and everyone involed.

The violence in the world today is outrageous... I know shawna & she is a good girl..I sure am glad that everyone involved is alright.
Talk is cheap, and EVERYONE has something to say.

THE THING IS THAT IT HAPPENED!!! AND THE GUY GOT CAUGHT, NOT THAT HIS GIRLFRIEND WOULD HAVE TURNED HIM IN OR HER MOTHER FOR THAT MATTER.. NOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IS, HE NEEDS TO GO TO TRIAL AND BE TREATED JUST LIKE ANY OTHER HUMAN. BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT HE IS...LETS JUST HOPE THAT HE IS NOT ABLE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS AGAIN...
PEACE OUT

It's BS. HECK, we the americans are paying for these low lives to be in jail or prison, or for their free schooling. It's complete and utter BS and everyone who disagrees with this knows deep down they feel the same!!!

Yes mom, they did lie. And yes, the police were looking for the wrong person at first... because of the lies.

ONE OF THE MOMS wrote on Dec 2, 2008 3:51 PM:

to "part of the family",i don't know who you are but this didn't happen at your neices house. it was at my daughters house and half of what you said was not true. yes, it was fantastic that luis stepped in and prevented what could have been fatally tragic and i will always be thankful for that. but your comments about the meth are wrong and not needed. neither girl said anything about testifying, you are way ahead of yourself. and the police knew exactly who they were looking for. you can't blame someone for what they might say in shock and confusion. i do hope beeper gets the proper legal representation that he needs. this wasn't just another case of domestic violence. so unless you know all the facts in the case, which you don't, then please keep your opinions to fact, not wannabe fiction.

What a Shame wrote on Dec 2, 2008 1:43 PM:

You know people, it really does not matter where a person came from. In this case, the person was wrong by stabbing other people, unless of corse he was defending himself, and if he was doing just that, he should have done a better job. But my point is, it doesn't matter what brand you are, he was wrong and I hope that he will be punished severly for his actions.

Study of ignorance wrote on Dec 2, 2008 10:07 AM:

I just love when an illegal citizen commits a crime and the wave of "whether or not he is illegal is irrelavant" begins.

For those of you in that categor, follow along a moment. A 16 year old boy gets in a car and drives to the store to get a pop. On the way he runs a red light by accident, somone is killed. Terrible tragedy for an example. Now what if that same kid didn't drive that day to get a pop, or didn't have access to keys and walked. Would the person be dead? NO they wouldn't.

So now that you know that, if the illegal was not here, the stabbing would not have happened.

I deplor living conditions in Mexico for many, but that doesn't make it okay to invade here. It means they need to work to change where they live for future generations.

gutierrez wrote on Dec 2, 2008 9:55 AM:

I think that people shouldn't judge the ones who come here illegally because you dont know there struggles and you dont know how hard it is to take care of a family down there,My husbend is friends with filiberto or (biper),he is a good person ,i dont know why he did that, but it happens everywhere and don't just think that all mexicans do stuff like that and some mexican HAVE real I.Ds

Part of the family wrote on Dec 2, 2008 6:08 AM:

It happent at my neices house. I know alot about these hispanic guys that they are with. These guys do on occasion use meth. more than on occasion. also there was a 2yr old and a 4 yr old in the house when this happened. I heard that the girls involved dont want to testify against the stabber becuase they feel loyal to him. they dont stop to think that they are lucky their even alive, or the kids that were present could have woke up and been hurt. this guy will do it again.if it was temperary insanity he needs help but because he is hispanic im sure he will recieve the worst representation available. He may need a pshyciatrist which i doubt they will give him. thank god that his cousin steped in to protect the girl bieng stabbed by he boyfriend. I give him props. Many men just watch while there friend use domestic violence against their wives. If he didnt step in this guy would of kept stabbing and she would be dead. Good job enano!!!!!

Best friend again wrote on Dec 2, 2008 5:20 AM:

whats sad about it all is those girls loved there dad and its gonna hurt them, so we all have to be suppotive of her cuz the reailty has not even kicked in yet but i know i will be there to pick-up the peices as they fall.

Best friends of the girls wrote on Dec 2, 2008 5:04 AM:

Great tactics CB&NBPD with the money u offered.U didnt belive they told u every thing they knew, not like they wanted him to pay 4 what he had done.I atlest have to say good job getting him without n-e-one else getting hurt.

Best friend of both girls wrote on Dec 2, 2008 3:54 AM:

None of u think before u open ur mouths do u???? have a little respect for the people who were hurt and tramitized by this.I have known them all for a very long time and for us who know them are all very shocked. now its time for the family and friends to pick up the broken peices.. and by the way (seriously now)I would watch who u r accussing of doing meth. and as for CB & NBPD all u did was try and bribe everyone with money like they were witholdin info, not like we wanted him to pay for his crime. yeah I knew him 4 three years and would have never thought but he deseves what he gets, he almost took my bestfriend of 9 years away for us but he will pay for what hes done...he'll have 2 live with it and wounder about his girls 4 the rest of his life.

roaddog wrote on Dec 1, 2008 12:23 PM:

You folks are somewhat fairly safe. This garbage happens EVERYDAY in the Phoenix area. Along with #1 in the nation for car theft and also being #4 with the highest crime rates in the nation. It's gotten so regular here, they don't even put it on the news unless it involves a child or a woman. Most of these crimes are done by illegals that have been deported time after time. Mexico needs a cleansing.

please wrote on Dec 1, 2008 10:49 AM:

Please - CB and NB PD... please do something about it. Press charges and send them to prison - please dont put them back out on our streets!

SEAROUSLY NOW wrote on Dec 1, 2008 10:42 AM:

booz may not have been involved, but i have a feeling meth may have played a part. who is up at 2:30am stabbing people? I dont just wake up in the middle of the night and get this great idea in my head to stab someone with a kitchen knife.

Good wrote on Dec 1, 2008 9:55 AM:

Good job CBPD and NBPD. Keep up the good work. Its only going to get worse as more gangbanger wannabes from Ca. come to our area. I know your job is hard. Praying for all of our committed hard working Police officers in our area.

puff wrote on Dec 1, 2008 9:29 AM:

It was his cousin, and his own gfriend. Whats even more dumb is that these girls stay in the relationhips with kids involved.

one of the moms wrote on Dec 1, 2008 8:49 AM:

first of all, he didn't stab his stepbrother. it was a cousin. this was a very scary night for everyone involved. and it wasn't due to alcohol. people who write comments about that should know what they are talking about. nowhere in that article does it mention drinking. there is no motive for this and the people involved don't even understand it. what is sad is that now two little girls won't have their dad and their mom is instantly a single mother who has just had her life altered greatly, not in a good way, and has no answers. don't be so quick to judge people you don't know based on just a newspaper article. this happened at my daughters house and i know every detail, so don't anyone try to tell me otherwise.

What a winner wrote on Dec 1, 2008 7:55 AM:

Looks like he stabbed his own (step) brother... wow alcohol is a hell of a drug.
