STANFORD, Calif. — Christen Press scored in the 86th minute and Stanford defeated Portland 1-0 Friday night in the quarterfinals of the NCAA women’s soccer playoffs.

The loss snapped a 19-match winning streak for the Pilots, who have been eliminated in the quarterfinals by a one-goal margin in each of the last three seasons.

Stanford will face No. 1 Notre Dame in a semifinal match next Friday in Cary, N.C.

Stanford goalie Kira Maker stopped three shots, while Portland’s Kelsey Davis finished with eight saves.
