No one hurt in Reedsport house fire
Several people had their night’s sleep interrupted after Thanksgiving dinner when a house caught fire in Reedsport, but no one was injured.
Reedsport Fire Department personnel responded to the blaze at 2688 Highland Drive at about 11:43 p.m. When they arrived, firefighters saw flames shooting up a wall on one side of the house.
“It started on the siding and went up inside the wall,” Fire Chief Tom Anderson said.
He blamed the cause of the fire on an extension cord hooked to an RV in the driveway.
Four Reedsport fire trucks responded and two remained on standby. The 15 or 18 firefighters had the fire contained in about an hour. The residents were able to return to the home after it had been ventilated, Anderson said.
