Robbery suspects linked to prison gang

The Coos County Sheriff’s Office says it has three known gang members in jail on charges relating to an Nov. 22 home invasion robbery in the Barview area.
On Tuesday, deputies arrested the final suspect, 28-year-old Timothy “Turtle” Machado, a press release said. Previously, police arrested Jason “Casper” Gay, 29, of Coos Bay and Dallas “Dizzy” Silva, 29, of Reedsport.
The robbery occurred the morning of Oct. 22 on Robertson Lane. A woman called 911 dispatchers to report three acquaintances beat up her roommate and stole a TV, video game and other property.
The Sheriff’s Office issued a press release saying the men are members of a prison-affiliated gang called the SouthSiders.
Deputies, with the help of Coos Bay police, South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team detectives and agents from the Coos County Parole /Probation Office went to 91586 Pemberton Lane in Coos Bay. There, they arrested Machado on a probable cause warrant. Police charged him with second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, fourth-degree assault, first-degree intimidation, coercion and parole violation. He’s being held at the Coos County jail without bail.
Silva remained jailed today on charges of second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, fourth-degree assault, first-degree intimidation and coercion. His bail is $100,000.
Gay remained jailed today on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree robbery, second-degree theft and tampering with a witness. His bail is set at $175,000
Some of the stolen property has been recovered and returned to the victims.
Sheriff’s deputies are asking that anyone with information involving illegal activity by gang members or other organized crime groups to call the Sheriff’s Office at 396-2106.
