Coast Guard: Crab boat towed to safety

Friday, November 28, 2008 |
PORTLAND (AP) — The Coast Guard says a 17-foot crab boat that ran aground at the Columbia River bar and was taking on water over the stern has been towed to safety.
Officials say two people were aboard the vessel when it beached Thursday morning, and nobody was hurt.
The vessel was not immediately identified.
The Coast Guard said one of its swimmers and the crew of a 25-foot boat from its Cape Disappointment Station helped to get the crabber off the beach and to a marina at Hammond.
