• A Reedsport woman hurt her shoulder in a one-car accident Sunday near Reedsport.
According to Sgt. Dave Marshall, at about 3:30 p.m., a 2006 Nissan Altima was traveling east on Lower Smith River Road near milepost 2 when it crossed the westbound lane, hit a gravel patch and ran into a guardrail.
The driver, Tahari Dodge, 23, told police she had pain in her shoulder, but she declined an ambulance ride to the hospital, Marshall said. The Nissan and the guardrail suffered severe damage, Marshall said.
• A Coquille man was injured early Saturday in a one-car crash on state Highway 42.
At about 1:55 a.m. a Coquille police officer spotted a 1997 Honda Accord traveling east at more than 80 mph. The officer lost sight of the Honda but later found it crashed on the westbound shoulder near milepost 14 and Johnson Mill Road, according to an Oregon State press release. The driver of the car, Isaac D. Jacobs, 30, was found on the ground outside of the car. An ambulance crew took Jacobs to Coquille Valley Hospital for treatment, but no further information was available at press time regarding his condition.
Police said the Honda hit a guardrail at the intersection of Johnson Mill Road, damaging the passenger side. The car then crossed the highway to the westbound shoulder and struck an embankment before stopping on a fog marker.
Jacobs was ejected through the broken front passenger window, police said. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash. |
