Coos County sheriff’s deputies are looking for three men in connection with a robbery off Cape Arago Highway, south of Empire.

At about 8:58 a.m. on Saturday, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Wendy Berryman, 36, of 90888 Robertson Lane. She said three acquaintances had knocked out her roommate, Douglas Belcher, 46, and had stolen her television, a Wii video game unit, and other property, according to a sheriff’s office press log.

An “attempt to locate” bulletin has been posted in Coos, Curry and Douglas counties for Jason “Casper” Gay, 29, of Sun Valley, Nev.; Tim “Turtle” Machado, 28, of Lakeside; and Reedsport resident Dallas “Dizzy” Silva, 29.

Deputies believe they may be members of a start-up or copycat gang known as the Southsider Gang, said Sgt. Pat Downing.

Downing said the suspects would likely face charges of second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, second-degree theft, first-degree intimidation and coercion.

Green Cards?????? You might want to do some research not a one of the last names are Mexican as you are refuring to. Where did you get your education from? All of you people who are making remarks need to get a life as it sounds like you are all feeding into what you think you know, you all sound like people who believe everything you read or see on TV, maybe you should read the BIG BOOK and then make your remarks.

I agree... sadly however we are in a society where no one gives a damn until it is them that is the victim, people don't want to be involved, etc. Rather than taking responsibility, everyone one of us, it's easier to just blame the one or two officers on duty for not preventing the crime in the first place, or not being there fast enough to catch them. Buy a gun, protect yourself, and sort it out later. It's survival of the fittest, and the herd needs to be thinned.

This is an issue that society has allowed to fester. From some unknown distrust in law (likely stemming from a loved one who was always in trouble and the law was looked at as the enemy) to the allowance of our young to watch crap (that is exactly what it is)on tv and in the movies. Turning the other cheek was not meant to be applied in situations like this. God forbid anyone pulls this type of junk when I am home cause let me tell you, My wife and kids are more proficient than most I know when it comes to being sure of your target, which is one of the golden rules when it comes to firearms. I say put a ding in their population everytime they pull this stuff and show them that we will not tolerate it. In the old west crimes were nill to zero when you had a town that did not tolerate criminal activity.

Bigger Problem wrote on Nov 28, 2008 2:53 PM:

The question that comes up in my mind is why three “gang” members where in the house in the first place. Nothing’s said about forced entry, just coercion and intimidation. Also, the items taken were only about $1000 or so. It sounds as if there is a money issue here; in my day I have seen many a TV go to settle a debt.

I hate to point out the obvious here, but the crimes committed by these individuals are only a symptom of the problem. I don’t claim to be informed on this case and am by no means involved with law enforcement, but this is a situation all too common in these types of circles.

I don’t know any of the parties involved and am in no way trying to make any allegations. I’m just trying to share some insight in the hope that I may enlighten some people that the mere prosecution of these individuals serves only a minor role to solving the bigger problem. It’s a societal issue we as citizens must address on a larger level and not just continue to ignore.

these people need to be taken off the streets as soon as mr law can do it.

Its all over wrote on Nov 26, 2008 2:32 PM:

OK, let's not feed this individual that prefers to be enpowered and likes bragging rights by using his so called gang name. The problem with at least one of these guys is the system. His old Parole Officer Jack and his new one in Empire District need to understand that nothing is going to change him. He's already served 5 years for Burlary, he's been in and out of Coos and Douglas Jails. It's time that he heads back to Salem for five years again. Coos County take note on this one, don't slap his hand and send him on his merry way. You don't want him and Salem better. Measure 11 guys!

To step it up. Only if people let it. Start standing up for what's yours and what you believe in. I'm tired of all the BS crap and I'm protecting what's mine no matter what my cost. And if everyone followed suit there wouldn't be near as much of this crap going on!

Dizzy is just doing what comes natural. It is in his "jeans." Think he needs a trip to Salem for awhile.

Its here people, the whole california gang element. The cops better get it together quickly or the gangs will take this area over like they did in every other coastal towns in Ca.

"Dizzy" is dizzy from revolving in and out of the Reedsport city, and Douglas county jails. It is time to send him to the big house where he can't play the game anymore.

What happened to Bugs and Lefty, now those are true gangster names!!

Curious wrote on Nov 24, 2008 11:23 AM:

Casper, Turtle and Dizzy.....LOL...sounds like a dangerous gang. Not the first time this house or Mr. Belcher has been in the police reports. He was arrested in July for 2nd degree criminal mischief, harrassment, 1st degree theft. Hmm....pattern here?

what do the culprits look like? how about a description, maybe it would help.
