Madrala Players present “An Evening of One Acts” at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Marshfield High School Drama Lab. $3 per person, $5 per family. 267-1434.

“The Dining Room” continues at the Hales Center for the Performing Art, Southwestern Oregon Community College Coos Bay Campus. Show runs at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. $8, adults, $6, seniors, Free for SOCC students and staff. 888-1578.

“Story Theatre” continues at North Bend High School Theater. A collection of comedic vignettes from Grimm Brothers’ collection and Aesop’s Fables, adapted for the stage by Paul Sills. Show runs through Sunday, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 756-8328.

“A Victorian Christmas With John Doan” will kick off Florence’s first-ever Dickens Festival, at 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Florence Playhouse, 208 Laurel St. This festive seasonal program is a live version of Doan’s public broadcasting television special, which re-enacts what it might have been like to celebrate Christmas a century ago, a press release said. The show explores how the Victorians invented many Christmas traditions we remember and quite a few we have forgotten. The 20-string harp guitar, classical banjo, and ukelin are but a few of the original instruments to be featured. $12. (541) 997-1675 or 902-9091.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival will present a special performance by two festival actors at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the Sawdust Theatre, 114 N. Adams St., Coquille. The presentation of classical and contemporary literature is part of the School Visit Partnership Program. After visiting Coquille High School, the actors will also visit Marshfield High School on Friday, Dec. 5. 396-2163.

Little Ole Opry presents “Country Christmas” at Little Theatre on the Bay in North Bend, Friday, Dec. 5, through Sunday, Dec. 7. Country music variety show with comedy and dance. The Marshfield Poetry Slam will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the Marshfield High School Drama Lab. An upfront, dramatic, competitive poetry performance event. Last year’s slam attracted 250 people, with 24 poets competing for a grand prize of $100. Sponsored by MHS English Department. Free for students, friends and family of contestants.

Christmas in Coquille, a community celebration, will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Coquille Community Center, 115 Birch St., community celebration. 396-3414.

Lee Littlefield, on the Wurlitzer Organ, and the Christmas Brass Ensemble, featuring Wilbur Jensen, will perform their annual holiday concert at noon Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Egyptian Theatre in Coos Bay. Traditional holiday music, novelty tunes and an audience sing-along. Free. 756-6769.

“The Nutcracker” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22,  in Marshfield High School’s auditorium. $18 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets are available only at The Portrait Place in the Pony Village Mall in North Bend.
