The Critical Thinking Company — publisher of educational books and software for all ages — has won two product awards. The two awards bring the small, family owned publisher’s 2008 award total to 10.

The latest two awards were for “Mathematical Reasoning Level C” and “Complete the Picture Math Book 1.” Both products made iParenting’s list of Media’s Greatest Products for 2008.

Mathematical Reasoning covers the concepts and skills students are expected to know in second grade. The book emphasizes problem solving and computation to build the math reasoning skills necessary for success in higher-level math and math assessments, and can be used as a core or supplemental book.

Complete the Picture develops a wide variety of math, reading, visual and spatial reasoning skills. Children solve an engaging word problem that focuses on reading comprehension and mathematical reasoning before completing and coloring an animal picture.

Each product submitted to iParenting receives three outside reviews from a licensed childcare professional or teacher, a subject area expert, and a parent. In addition, each product is judged by the iParenting Media Awards Executive Committee.

The 50-year-old company offers fun, easy-to-use products that develop a wide range of thinking skills and improve standards-based learning in reading, writing, math, science and history.
