Oregon State Police detectives swept through Coos County last week on the hunt for sex offenders out of compliance with probation.
Police arrested seven paroled sex offenders on failure to register and identified 17 who are wanted, a press release said. OSP targeted 35 offenders in the sweep. There are 373 registered sex offenders in the area, including 20 registered predatory sex offenders. The 35 were determined to be out of compliance with mandatory state registration requirements. Detectives also checked on predatory sex offenders to confirm their actual addresses were accurate.
The seven cited for failure to register included Jonathan P. Uhrig, 22, of North Bend; Coos Bay resident Tallon J. McDonald, 28; Jody R. Phillips, 27, of Coos Bay; Ian S. Bannon, 25, of Coos Bay; Jimmy A. Delzell, 24, of Coos Bay; Charleston resident Edward A. Tindell, 41; and Freeman H. Young, 89, of Charleston.
