Powers volleyball players earn all-league honors

Powers seniors Haley Patterson and Nicole Bittner were selected first-team all-league in the Skyline League after helping lead the Cruisers to the Class 1A playoffs for the third straight season.
Pacific juniors Devon Ashdown and Jesse Culley were selected for the second team.
Days Creek, which won the league title, placed three players on the first team — Olivia Goleman, Aibyah Watkins and K’Dean Ramos. Days Creek’s Ron Dunn was named coach of the year.
Elkton’s Robin Whipple was player of the year, while the other first-team picks were Christine Carter and Lisa Ferrara of Camas Valley.
Football
Kiefer Allen was the only Powers player picked for the first team in the Skyline League.
Allen was chosen the first-team center on offense and also was a second-team pick at linebacker. Powers teammate Kyle Blanton was a second-team selection at defensive back.
Soccer
The honorable mention selections for the Far West League (District 3) boys soccer team were not included with the rest of the all-league picks in Saturday’s edition of The World.
They can be found, along with the rest of the team, in today’s Scoreboard section.
