Industrial enterprises and development will be the focus of this year’s Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Economic Outlook Forum.

The event is scheduled from 6:45 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, at The Mill Casino-Hotel.

This event is a joint project of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, the Southwestern Oregon Community College Business Development Center and US Bank. The 2008 Forum will feature former U.S. Bancorp Economist John Mitchell, a picture of our regional economy by Guy Tauer of the Oregon Employment Department and presentations on economic issues of importance to our area. Areas of focus this year will be the South Coast Development Council, Oregon Resources Corporation and an Oregon International Port of Coos Bay hosted panel on Railroad Opportunities plus the popular feature “Home Grown Success.”

The forum typically attracts more than 260 attendees.

All are welcome to attend this annual event or to help sponsor it.

The chamber is seeking sponsors. The major sponsor cost is $300. Major sponsors get a listing in the Chamber December and January newsletters and Chamber Quarterly published by The World, as a sponsor on attendees agenda and registration forms, display table if wanted, opportunity to place promotional material in the registration packet, special thank you announcement by emcee, listings on ads and banners during the event and one complimentary breakfast.

This is to South Coast Economist ... have you ever gone to this forum? Some people in this community do not feel that it is a waste of time. I for one feel that this is a great event that our Chamber puts on for us. And I would like to thank the employees who put this together for our community. Please do not listen to one small minded person in this community.

Here's a money saving tip... don't waste your money going to this cheerleading event... executive summary - the economy here is TERRIBLE and the outlook for the foreseeable future is even worse... The U of O Economic quarterly Power Point presentation is available online as well to tell you the same thing...
