USGS reports small earthquake west of Bandon
Saturday, November 15, 2008 6:13 AM PST

Did you feel it?

Probably not, unless you were sitting on the ocean bottom 152 miles due west of Bandon on Thursday. The U.S. Geological Society reported a 5.3-magnitude earthquake occurred at 5:48 p.m. Since the quake was so far offshore, no one felt the tectonic plate movement on land.

The NOAA West Coast & Alaska Tsunami Warning Center reported that the quake was not big enough to generate a tsunami. .
