Saturday, November 15, 2008 |
Star of Hope has won a $150,000 grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust.
Star of Hope is a nonprofit organization that provides services to developmentally disabled adults in Coos County. The funds will be used to create and implement a development program to enhance the long-term financial stability of Star of Hope, a press release said.
Meyer Memorial Trust was created by the late Fred G. Meyer, who built the chain of retail stores bearing his name throughout the Pacific Northwest. When Meyer died in 1978, at the age of 92, his will established the trust, which began operating in 1982. The Meyer Memorial Trust is not connected in any way with Fred Meyer Inc., the retail enterprise.
