Funding available for local arts projects

The Coos County Cultural Coalition is offering funding to members of the local arts, music, theater, writers, cultural and natural history, and crafts communities.
Interested individuals or nonprofit groups planning special projects can apply. Projects can include a topical exhibit reflecting local culture, an educational arts program, an interdisciplinary venture, or some other creative endeavor which incorporates local culture, heritage or history, may consider applying for grant funds.
The coalition encourages projects celebrating Oregon’s 150th anniversary of statehood. There will be more than $10,000 in funding available for the 2009 grant cycle. The deadline for grant applications is Feb. 28. Awards will be presented in April.
