Salvation Army taking applications for gifts

The Salvation Army Worship and Service Center will be taking applications for Christmas toys and food baskets next month in Coos Bay.

People wanting to apply can go to the church from noon to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, Dec. 1-5. The church is located at 1155 Flanagan Avenue (Four blocks south of the 7-Eleven in Empire).

Those who apply must have identification and be residents of Coos County. Other items required are:

n Proof on income (i.e .medical card, check stub, food stamp card).

n Proof of children living in the home. (i.e. medical card, Social Security number).

Gifts will be available for children through age 18 if still in school.

Distribution will be on Monday, Dec. 22, by appointment.
