According to a press release, it brings visual and performing arts together with “Celebrate Arts” multimedia and generational, juried fine arts show and the Tony-award winning musical, “Into the Woods.”
“Into the Woods” carries a cast of 23 and is based upon well-known fairy tales. The play will be shown at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 7 through Nov. 15, and at 2 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the events center or by calling 997-1994.
SaturdaySafe boatingCoos Bay Power Squadron will have a boat smart course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Squadron Building in Charleston. The cost is $15.

Fighting hungerBandon performers will take their talent to the stage Saturday for the Bandon Feeds The Hungry Variety Show.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Sprague Community Theater on Southwest 11th Street next to Bandon City Park.
There will be a silent auction with numerous items, including artist supplies, motel lodging, numerous gift certificates from merchants, four rounds of golf at Bandon Crossings and an annual boat launch pass from Port of Bandon.
There will also be a drawing with 50 percent of the drawing ticket price going to Bandon Feeds the Hungry and the other 50 percent to be divided between three lucky winners. Bring a non-perishable food item and your name will be entered into a door prize drawing.
Tickets are $12 for general admission. For seniors (60 and older) and students, the cost is $10. Tickets are available at Bandon Mercantile, Bandon True Value, Winter River Books and at the Sprague theater.

Honoring vets A breakfast will be held for veterans from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday at 1421 Airport Way in North Bend. Dinner will be held, beginning with a no-host cocktail hour at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, 568 S. Second, in Coos Bay. The events are free for all veterans and their families, and are sponsored by Bay Area Post 34 American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 538. Music will be provided by Mike and Merle.
