The Soroptimist International of the Coos Bay Area service club meets at noon in The Mill Casino-Hotel Sawblade Room. Current project: Carnation Sale scholarship fundraiser. For more information, call 297-3425.

The Egyptian Theatre Preservation Association will hold a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday in the lobby of the theater. Household items, antiques and collectibles will be available, with profits to benefit the ETPA general fund. For more information, call 297-8659.

Quilt sale
A craft and quilt sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9. The sale will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist Community Service, 2175 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay.
Items for sale include quilts, flower arrangements, homemade articles and baked goods.
Funds will be used to purchase food for the church’s food pantry.
Flu shots
Bandon’s Veteran’s Clinic, 1010 First St. S.E., is offering free flu vaccinations for eligible veterans from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. For more information, call (541) 440-1000 ext. 44101.

Harvest at the mall
Pony Village Mall will hold a celebrate the harvest event from Friday through Sunday. A holiday craft fair will be held during regular mall hours, as well as a Bay Area Artists Association display. Wine tasting from eight different wineries will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, with tickets for $5 at the door. Live music will be offered from 1 to 4:40 p.m. Saturday.
Breast cancer awareness live and silent auctions will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 756-0433.
Honoring vets
Sunset Middle School will have a Veteran’s Day assembly to honor all veterans from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Juried art
The Florence Fall Festival of the Arts opens Friday at the Florence Events Center. It brings visual and performing arts together with “Celebrate Arts” multimedia and generational, juried fine arts show and the Tony-award winning musical, “Into the Woods,” according to a press release.
M.J. Koreiva, who serves on the board of directors from the Oregon Museums Association, will select 135 pieces for the show from more than 300 entries.
“Into the Woods” carries a cast of 23 and is based upon fairy tales. The play will be at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 7 through Nov. 15 and at 2 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the events center or by calling (541) 997-1994.
Circle jam
An acoustic circle jam will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Odd Fellows Hall in Bandon. Musicians of all ages and proficiencies are welcome. Donations are accepted for use of the hall and coffee. For more information, call 347-2229.

The Sixes Grange will hold a Saturday Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Vendors will be there with antiques to household items. Sixes Grange is four miles north of Port Orford.
Remembering the armistice

Faith Lutheran Church will sponsor a chili feed benefit from 4 to 7 p.m.for the Coquille Library Saturday in the large auditorium of the Coquille Community Center. The chili feed will held with the library’s book sale. Chili, along with corn bread, drinks and cookies, will be provided at donations of $6 per person or $15 per family. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be matching funds raised for the Library Friends Foundation.
