Car thefts bring arrest

Curry County deputies arrested a Brookings man on charges stemming from a series of burglaries and car thefts in the Harbor area.
According to a Curry County Sheriff’s Office press release, police recovered several stolen vehicles Thursday in Del Norte County (Calif.), following an investigation by the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Brookings Police Department, assisted by the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol.
Based on evidence obtained during investigations, officers located and arrested Jonathan M. Stamm, 35, on charges including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, three counts of first-degree theft, three counts of identity theft, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts of second-degree theft, possession of methamphetamine, second-degree burglary and possession of stolen property. He was taken to Curry County jail. He was being held this morning on $362,500 bail.
The investigation is continuing, the press release said. |
