Basic mouse

A free public basic computer workshop will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday in the Cedar Room of the Coos Bay Public Library. The event will be held by the Bay Area Senior’s Computer Club. No registration or membership is required. For more information, call 266-9714 or 269-7396.

Business value

The Southwestern Comm-unity College Business Devel-opment Center and Hough MacAdam & Wartnik LLC are teaming up to offer a workshop to give business buyers and sellers the tools to assess a business’s worth. “The ABCs of Valuing Business” will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday at the BDC in North Bend.

Tuesday

Flu shots

Southern Coos Health District will provide free flu vaccinations to adults in Bandon on Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drive-through service will be available.

Anyone age 18 and over is eligible to participate providing they are not sick that day, do not have allergy to eggs or a component of the vaccination and have never had a serious reaction to past flu vaccinations.

Handling food?

Coos County Public Health will sponsor food handler classes at 1 p.m. Tuesday and at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in North Bend. Another class will be held in Myrtle Point at the OSU Extension Building at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Civil War movie

The Coos Bay Public Library will show “The American Civil War” at 2 p.m.  Tuesday in the Myrtlewood Room of the library. Globe Trekkers explore the bitter region of conflict between Union and states’ rights. Their journey takes them to some of key Civil War sites including Harper’s Ferry, Fort Sumter, Gettysburg and Appomattox, a press release said. No admission will be charged and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 269-1101.

Dance lessons

The Sets in Order Square and Round Dance Club will meet for Square Dance lessons from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Elementary School in Coquille. Jim Harris and Coleeta Quigley are the instructors. Round dance lessons will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Instructors will be Jim and Denise Harris.

Registration required

“Let’s Do Lunch” will present their annual auction called “Pilgrims and Pumpkins” at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at the Red Lion Inn in Coos Bay.

Military honor

In honor of all military personnel serving during this holiday season, Anthony’s Garden and Lights and Coos County Food Share are sponsoring a Thanksgiving dinner food box.

The dinners will be given out from noon until they are all gone on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the Green Spot, 181 Anderson Ave. Any family in Coos, Curry, or  Western Douglas county with an member currently serving in the military may receive one.

The dinner food boxes will include a turkey with all the trimmings and side dishes.

Those interested in receiving a box and honoring their service member can call 297-6481. Please do not call past 8 p.m.
