Off-duty cop helps nab purse-snatching suspect
Linda Celentano of North Bend was eating lunch Tuesday in the passenger’s seat of her car with the door cracked open in downtown Coos Bay. That’s when a man apparently reached in and grabbed her purse from the dashboard and took off.

Bandon stabbing suspect due in court
Bandon police have released the name of the man stabbed in a fight following a two-vehicle crash last week. The stabbing suspect is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Crash leads to seatbelt citation
A two-vehicle accident snarled traffic in downtown Coos Bay on Tuesday, though emergency responders didn’t need to take anyone to the hospital.
