Returning ballots by mail in Coos County will cost voters 42 cents, the same as the first class mail rate.
A recent announcement from Lane County that voters there would be paying 59 cents to return their ballots spurred questions about the cost here, Coos County Clerk Terri Turi said in a press release.
According to Lane County’s Web site, the Nov. 4 ballot is two inches longer than in previous elections, making it tip the scales over the one ounce limit for 42-cent postage.
Voters also have the option to return ballots through the various drop sites located throughout the county. For more information, those interested can go to the Coos County Elections Web site at
