A 50-year-old woman was injured and then cited on a driving under the influence charge Monday, in a two-vehicle crash near Lakeside.
At about 8:20 a.m., an Oregon State Police trooper went to a crash scene on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 220, for an injury accident that happened at about 7:55 a.m.
There, he found that a 1995 Regal Buick, driven by Reedsport resident Jennifer R. Rossi, 42, stopped for a construction zone, and a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass, driven by Lois A. Al-Zoubi of Reedsport, had collided, an OSP press release states. Rossi’s husband took her to seek medical aid.
An ambulance took Al-Zoubi to Lower Umpqua Hospital. She also was cited and released on the DUII charge, two counts of reckless endangering and following too closely. She was warned for careless driving and failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of an address change. She was released to the care of hospital staff.
This morning, a hospital spokeswoman said Al-Zoubi was treated and released.
No information about Rossi was available.
