Expect some competition for the best tables at area restaurants this weekend.

The Soroptimist International of the Coos Bay Area is hosting approximately 200 women for the 55th-annual meeting of District 2.

The event started Friday and ends Sunday at the Red Lion Inn in Coos Bay. Representatives of 34 Soroptimist Clubs throughout Oregon will be sharing the buzz of Soroptimists, a press release said.

Soroptomist is a volunteer service organization for business and professional women who are dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
