Saturday, October 18, 2008 6:15 AM PDT
The Court Appointed Special Advocates program of Coos County is hosting a movie showing and fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Egyptian Theatre in downtown Coos Bay.
The event will feature the movie “Shrek” at 7 p.m. All proceeds benefit CASA, which gives vulnerable children a voice in the court. CASA volunteers advocate for children’s best interests and helps to be sure they are placed in a safe and permanent home. The program is currently advocating for more than 100 local children, a press release said.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the first 50 children get in free. Otherwise, tickets are $5. Tickets are on sale at Umpqua Bank, Books by the Bay or at the box office of the theater. CASA is a program of Oregon Coast Community Action. |
