Saturday, October 18, 2008 |
Southwestern Oregon Community College and Eastern Oregon University has named Randall Radcliff as the director of the Southwestern Oregon University Center.
Radcliff holds his associate degree from Chemeketa Community College, baccalaureate degree from Western Illinois University, and has a master’s degree in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University. He also brings nine years of higher education experience, including time as the Memorial Union Rec Center Manager at Oregon State University, Associate Director of Associated Students at Sacramento State University. His last position was at Mount Hood Community College, where he served as evening and weekend services coordinator and TRIO advisor.
Radcliff wants to expand services at the University Center so students have more options.
“I want to be able to make this into a true Oregon University System Center,” he said. “I want to try to bring University of Oregon, Oregon State and Southern Oregon University, as well as others, back into the center so they have advisors here to address the needs of the students more effectively.”
As someone who benefited from distance-delivered education to obtain his own degree, Radcliff said he understands what is needed to complete a degree by distance education.
He hopes to use his own experiences to help others, a press release said. Radcliff is looking at ways to collaborate with Southwestern and local business and industry leaders to build on current degree offerings, and provide pertinent programming for the South Coast.
