Peter Donaldson, educator, curriculum designer, experienced group facilitator and instructional coach, will present a 45-minute keynote address and a question-and-answer period on the rapidly emerging sustainable economy from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Coos Bay Public Library Myrtlewood Room.

The focus is on positive stories from the local bioregion — the natural ecological community. Topics include how cities are shifting from the industrial economy to the sustainable economy, and how people are measuring the difference according to the new triple bottom line: economy, ecology and society.

The speaker uses real examples,  strategies and a balanced approach to meeting current needs in the area while considering the needs of future generations, according to a press release.

The keynote speech should be concluded in time for those who want to attend the mayoral campaign debate at 7 p.m. in Coos Bay City Hall, according to an organizer.

Donaldson’s 24 years experience includes the performing arts. He is a consummate storyteller with two one-man shows that tour the Pacific Northwest annually — “Leonardo da Vinci” and “Salmonpeople.” Some folks may remember Donaldson’s performance of “Salmonpeople” at Little Theatre on the Bay two years ago.

Donaldson is dedicating his life to telling the big stories of the new renaissance awakening the wisdom of ecological and economic sustainability, the press release stated.
