The schedule for the South Coast Youth Football League’s final set of games on Saturday has been adjusted so coaches can attend the funeral for former North Bend coach Howard Johnson on Saturday.

The schedule at Marshfield High School’s Pete Susick Stadium now has the Coos Bay Jets against the Coos Bay Vikings at 9 a.m., the Coos Bay Raiders facing the North Bend Broncos at 1:30 p.m., and the North Bend Steelers against the Coquille Chiefs at 3:30 p.m.

Johnson’s memorial service starts at 11 a.m. at the North Bend High School gymnasium.

The other two teams in the league, from Florence, will play a game in their hometown.

Saturday marks the final day of a successful first season for the league for fifth- and sixth-graders.

“I think it turned out great,” said Quintin Hall, one of the coordinators. “Just having the kids participate is a victory for us.”

A $1 admission charge will be in place Saturday to help raise funds for next season.

Scores from the fourth week last Saturday included: Coos Bay Raiders 30, Coquille Chiefs 8, Coos Bay Vikings 26, North Bend Steelers 14, Coos Bay Jets 14, Florence 1 6 and North Bend Broncos 30, Florence 2 19.
