The South Coast Grapplers, a regional wrestling club, begins practice on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the Southwestern Oregon Community College wrestling room at the new Recreation Center.
The club meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and is for students 6 to 17 years old.
Wrestling is a good sport for physical development because it involves overall strength, agility and balance and requires a blend of athletic skill.
Wrestling is unique because it can be aggressive without being violent. It also promotes sportsmanship and discipline.
