Youth Sports: Registration ends soon for Boys & Girls Club volleyball

All boys and girls in grades 3 through 6 are eligible to sign up for volleyball at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon.
Registration for Bay Area students will end on Oct. 13, though sign-up sessions will be held after that date in Reedsport and Coquille.
The fee is $50 with a current club membership.
Practices can begin as early as Oct. 20, and games start on Nov. 15.
Scholarships and fee reducations are available for those who qualify.

Rural sign-up sessions scheduled
Registration sessions for Boys & Girls Club volleyball will be held in Myrtle Point,Reedpsort and Coquille over the coming few weeks.
The schedule includes:
Myrtle Point: 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Myrtle Crest School cafeteria.
Reedsport: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at Highland Elementary School.
Coquille: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 at Coquille Valley School.
Sportsmanship awards
Bay Area Sportsman’s Association sportsmanship and official awards for Boys & Girls Club fall soccer and flag football games played on Sept. 27.
Sportsmanship Awards
First grade soccer: Home Builders Association (Reedsport), coahced by Wendy Charlton.
Second grade soccer: Vergers (Reedsport), coached by Michael Patin.
Third grade soccer: Oregon Coast Spine Institute (Hillcrest SC), coached by Shane Cook.
Fourth grade soccer: Farr’s True Value (Bunker Hill), coached by Melissa Sales.
Fifth/sixth grade soccer: Lighthouse Tsunami (Lighthouse/North Bend), coached by John Adams.
Flag football: South Coast Orthopaedic (Bunker Hill/Madison), coached by Mike McCarthy.
