Greenacres
Coos County deputies arrested a Coos Bay man Sunday morning on a harassment charge.
According to the Coos County sheriff’s log, at 12:38 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a dispute at 59779 Roderick Road. They arrested Cody Simones, 20, on a charge of domestic harassment. He was taken to Coos County jail and released on his own recognizance Monday.
Coos Bay
Officers arrested two men Sunday on theft and burglary charges, following a report someone was trying to steal a riding lawnmower.
At 4:09 a.m., Coos Bay police received a call reporting two subjects trying to take the lawnmower from 1432 Newmark Ave.
Police found two men trying to load the lawnmower into a vehicle. Officers arrested Coos Bay resident Douglas G. Belcher, 46, and North Bend resident Bradley V. Mullanix, 32, on charges of first-degree theft and first-degree burglary. Police also charged Belcher with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and a probation violation.
Both were taken to the Coos County jail, where Belcher is being held without bail and Mullanix is being held on $100,000 bail.
Reedsport
Reedsport police arrested a Reedsport man Friday following a car crash on Ridgeway Road.
According to the Reedsport police bulletin, at 8:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of an accident in the 3100 block of Ridgeway Road. One of the vehicles left before police arrived. The driver Jesse Silva, 23, turned himself in at the Reedsport Police Department, following the crash. Police arrested him on a charge of failure to perform the duties of a driver and reckless driving. He was taken to Reedsport jail, where he was being held on $12,500 bail this morning.
Myrtle Point
Oregon State Police troopers arrested a Myrtle Point woman Sunday, following a crash on State Route 42.
At about 4 a.m., a 1993 Nissan Quest van, driven by Maria S. Huerta, was eastbound on the state route near milepost 0.3 when it failed to negotiate a curve and Huerta lost control of her van. It left the roadway at the shoulder, went into a ditch and overturned. Huerta, 48, agreed to perform a field sobriety test and was then placed into custody on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. She was taken to the Coos County jail and released on citation the same day.
