I think what a shame needs to wake up and see how much this world is growing and how far other countries are in technology and this is for the future of our kids. What a shame he doesn’t have one. What a shame.

What a total waste of tax payer money. These cute little boards have already cost around $120,000.00 and now they are going to get 50 more with a cost of another $1000,000.00. The entire school board should be kicked out over this one. If this isn't a complete waste of money of money, then nothing is. Wake up people make them show you how much these cute little boards are costing you, it is public information.

if you want kids to learn, you have to keep them engaged. I don't see how we can keep modern, technology-savvy kids engaged in learning using 19th century techniques anymore. The SMART boards are probably the best thing the local schools have gotten in years. Now if we could just pull the adults of the county into the 21st century...

This is great technology that keeps the kids interest in learning. Coos Bay School District has been using Smart Boards for over 5 years.

Schools in the United States are required to offer students technology.
Good job, North Bend Schools! Thank you to the PTA/PTO's, organizations whom gave grants, and others not mentioned.
Students are the now, they need every opportunity to get the best education possible.

I think this is a big step in the right direction. Though obviously expensive, they seem to be affecting the students by getting them more engaged and excited about learning. Back when I was in elementary school, we were graduating from the old chalk boards to marker boards and that was exciting even for us in that day. So I can only imagine how much this is motivating this particular generation.

I guess with the school budgets being a problem they could not afford to buy chalk anymore. I can see where this was a needed expense for the school

CHALKBOARD - $98.00
CHALK - $1.00 (5) pack
ERASER - $1.00 each
Finding out your School Board has little or no ability to manage money - PRICELESS.
