Obama supports aborting babies

The Born Alive Infants Protection Act goes back to a Chicago hospital, where induced labor abortions were being performed on a regular basis. The late-second, early-third trimester abortions involve inducing labor, birthing baby almost all the way, and usually killing them by suctioning their brains out while the head remains inside the mother. Even Republicans and Democrats agree this procedure is immoral and deplorable. But, this goes further.

A live baby is born in 15 to 20 percent of the cases  — sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes several hours. But no thought had been given to medical treatment after they survive an abortion. Instead, they were shelved and left to die from neglect.

The Illinois Legislature tried to pass a law that would have protected babies by defining anyone who is already born and alive — including those who survive an abortion — as a person. Each time it came up, Obama was the only state senator to speak against this law on the Illinois Senate floor.

Obama voted “present” on the first bill which, in Illinois Legislature, is equivalent to “NO.”  It was part of his strategy devised with Planned Parenthood lobbyists. The same legislation came up the following year. He did it again.

In 2003, Obama became chairman of the Senate Health Committee and was recorded as telling his committee he voted against the bill again “because it didn’t contain the same language as the Federal Board of Live Infants Protection Act.”  This was misleading to the committee because, in fact, this bill did contain that language — it was exactly the same as the bill that went to the U.S. Senate floor.

But now he says that he didn’t vote against it, he was actually for it, that the law was already protecting those babies. He’s insulting our intelligence again. In fact, Obama is even against a new provision that would require a second doctor to be present, in order to help a live-born baby that the first doctor tried to abort.

Obama’s voting history and deceptive statements on providing care to babies who survive abortions reveal his lack of conscience and ever evolving memory. How could any person, pro-choice or pro-life, think a baby should be left to die by neglect? It is inhumane. Evidently, that’s just fine with Obama.

There’s a reason Obama is known as the most liberal senator whether it’s guns, taxes, national security. Or even babies.

Tiffany,

Haven't you heard? The religious right doesn't want you and I to have Plan B. That's abortion in their eyes. You need to keep up more. Heck, they've even tried to make it so Pharmacists aren't required to dispense medication that goes against their religious beliefs (ie. morning after pill, because it's abortion in their eyes).

If the religious right really gave a rat's butt about life, they'd stop wailing about sex ed & birth control. But they only want to gripe about life once it's too late and there's a pregnancy. Then they're all over it. Once the baby's born though? Ohhh, it's "socialism" for anyone to care for it (other than the mother who knew she couldn't afford it in the first place).

Unbelievable.

Quit coming out with these lies, my God. I don't know what's more offensive; your outright lies, or your idiotic grunts of "socialist" and "marxist".

how arrogant women that support abortion are. They feel they are the ONLY ones who can make the decision on the value of human life.

yes it is your 'right' to kill an unborn human being (they are always human beings...they never come out as dogs, cats, etc..always a person..). That doesn't mean that I, as a man, and other men, cannot protest because we believe in the sanctity of human life.

Funny thing...the man has NO SAY as to whether a child is carried full term. But if the child is born, he has no say as to whether or not he wants a choice in the matter.

truth is it takes two to tango and the decision should not be one person's alone.

If not, it's just a matter of time before family planning is eradicated and prayer is mandated in school. History repeats itself. In times of trouble, societies band together under an umbrella of religion. I don't want to live in Nazi Germany. Be aware that the same people that claim to "fight for freedom" and preserve our way of life are the first ones to impose thier beliefs on others. If I need an abortion I will get one and it is not any of your business. Agaisnt abortion? Don't get one.

Killing the most innocent and helpless of our society doesn't compare to the price of gas as many of the liberal writers tried to divert to. I have never understood why liberals are so excited about killing innocent humans. At the same time many liberals are against the death penalty for convicted murders. Many will resort to great lengths to protect the life of animals. But when it comes to innocent humans it another story. Most of the animals of the animal kingdom have one thing in common: the mother will protect her young (with her our life in some cases). Not so with liberals. There is something very evil about this.

Linda, and all you other zealots who think you need to protect the unborn. Decide that for yourself, teach it in your family, but you do not have the right to legislate what happens to my body. Pregnancy and childbirth can be a life threatening experience, the choice to have an abortion - a safe and legal medical procedure to insure the mother's health takes precidence over any developing embreo or fetus. I'm sick of the righteous bullying tone of those who claim to be pro life. Open your home to become a foster parent for living children if you love these unwanted babies so much - help them grow into decent human beings. Show your love to the real children, and stop hating me for my right to choice. I have never regretted the abortion I had and almost every woman I know has been through one at some point for some reason - we are not murderers, we are not victims. How dare you call us such and try to take our right to our lives' away. You bet I'm voting for Obama!

Most opposed to abortion believe there should be exceptions–rape, incest, life of the mother in danger, so if you allow for exceptions, then you believe at some point and in some circumstances, it’s okay to murder that baby.

The legal system doesn’t simply convict people of murder. There are a thousand shades of grey, which is why we have jury trials and enormous law books filled with all the various ways a person can kill someone without it being “murder.” If the circumstances matter once a child is out of the womb, why don’t they matter when he or she is in the womb?

Oh, really? A pack of lies? If you had done any kind of a basic internet search, you would have found it to be true. Where'd you get your version? From Obama's recent responses to the criticism of this issue? Typical.

Check out these websites for starters:

150 years ago, the Dmocratic party was the party that pormoted the right to choose SLAVERY.
Now, they are the party that promotes the right to choose ABORTION
Barack Obama is the Presidential candidate for the party.
IT IS IRONIC.
If slave owners had treated their victims the same way that ABORTIONISTS treat theirs, would BARACK OBAMA even be considered a viable candidate? OR would he be nothing more than an oddity?
Someone different from the rest of us.

NObama wrote on Oct 6, 2008 9:34 PM:

This was NOT an article about being for or against abortion, though The World titled it to appear so. This letter is about Obama's lack of decency and humanity to address the ongoing lack of treatment, and resulting suffering, that an aborted baby who is born alive endures.
He is the only one that I know of who voted AGAINST both: 1) legislation against this inhumane treatment and 2)legislation that would have helped provide support for the child.
It's plain and simple - lack of compassion in any sense of the word, lack of decency, and no value for human life whatsoever.

And Dont Get Raped wrote on Oct 6, 2008 9:24 PM:

Palin thinks it's a medical expense YOU (or your insurance) should have to pay, not their crime lab!

Not a Glenn Beck fan wrote on Oct 6, 2008 7:16 PM:

Linda, since you quoted Obama, that 'quote' will turn up in searches...
It does...it has one source...
Glenn Beck.
Ya hear me?
Glenn Beck.
Where did he get it?
David Fredosso.
Who is he?
He works for the McCain campaign.

No where, in the archives nor anywhere else on this Earth does that quote turn up for Obama.

(but I did learn that the language was changed in the final version that was sent to the Senate Floor, thus proving what Obama said as true)

My Dear Linda wrote on Oct 6, 2008 7:08 PM:

This letter does have fewer-dare I say it-lies than your previous attempt...however, you are still lying.

This is a rather thin issue and one that has been sorted out, the votes you mention...the talking point was he didnt bother voting. Now you say he did vote and it meant "no".

Gosh, good luck to you and all but you need to get out more.

Vote McCain/Palin

comment to the editor wrote on Oct 6, 2008 1:39 PM:

I have to wonder, when reading letter to the editor, where the editor comes up with the headings. This letter is just one example.

The heading implies that Obama thinks that people should abort babies. That is very different than saying that abortion should remain available.

I am requesting that the editor closely consider what words are used. Or maybe he/she does and is trying to influence the debate one way or the other. Is that right?

McCainPalin will take away a womans right to choose. wrote on Oct 6, 2008 11:09 AM:

McCain and Palin will take away a women's right to choose even in cases of rape and incest. They will put the lives and health of women at risk.

Vote Obama.
