South Coast caregivers earn awards

The Alzheimer’s Association Oregon Chapter has honored four South Coast caregivers employed in Alzheimer’s special care units in the Cascade-Coast region at the annual “Excellence in Alzheimer’s Caregiving” recognition dessert on Sept. 26 in Eugene.

These woman were given certificates of appreciation and lapel pins, in gratitude for providing meritorious service to their Alzheimer’s residents.

n Liz Miles of Life Care of Coos Bay, Coos Bay.

n Brooke Bales of Elderberry Square and Sophie Clement of Regency Florence, both in Florence.

n Roberta Wallace of Baycrest Village, North Bend.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s local Community and Family Services Committee sponsored the annual event. The Cascade Coast Regional Office serves an estimated 10,000  people with Alzheimer’s as well as their family members, caregivers and friends in Lane, Douglas, Coos and Curry counties.
